DMUK to present at SAMSIG meeting

Helen Dolphin will be speaking about the Disabled Parking Award (DPA) at the BPA Structure and Asset Management Special Interest Group (SAMSIG) on 24 June 2015 at Triflex UK Ltd Whitebridge Way Stone Staffordshire.

The DPA is primarily aimed at improving parking for disabled people and reducing abuse of disabled bays. It is hoped that car parks who qualify for the DPA will not only be demonstrating to their customers that they are committed to creating high quality parking facilities but they should also be better able to avoid Equality Act cases.

The DPA was launched at Parkex in 2014 and is endorsed both by the British Parking Association (BPA) and the Independent Parking Committee (IPC). NCP have pledged 100 of their car parks by the end of the year and UKPC have pledged 50. Companies already signed up to the scheme include CP Plus Ltd for their high speed rail car parks, APCOA, District Enforcement and Q-park. Local Authorities who have joined the scheme include Cambridge City Council, City of Lincoln Council and Cheshire West and Chester Council. We also have a large number of shopping centres signed up most notably Bluewater, Meadowhall and the Metrocentre.

Helen Dolphin said: "I'm always delighted to present at meetings like SAMSIG as it's really important for the growth of the scheme that people working in parking know and understand the importance of car parks achieving the award."

If you would like Helen to speak to your local authority/access group/parking operator then please call DMUK on  01508 489449 .
